KRAFTWERK Renewable Power Solutions GmbH has begun construction of a 940 kWp open-space solar power plant on a commercial site in Garlipp, Saxony-Anhalt. The plant will feed into a 30 kV medium-voltage network, and 100% of the generated solar power will be marketed directly. The city of Bismark, which owns the property, has signed a 30-year lease with a private investor.
KRAFTWERK Renewable Power Solutions’ Frankfurt office led the project to the construction stage and will provide turnkey installation. Optimal conditions, such as the close proximity to the grid connection point, offer an attractive profitability for the investor. “The Garlipp project shows us that through professional and careful planning, it is still possible to successfully implement open-space solar power plants, even after the new legal framework took effect August 2014.” Project Manager Andreas Kaiser adds, “One special feature of this plant is the combination of an East/West and South exposure to achieve maximum usage of the land.”
